Former Liverpool and AC Milan center forward Fernando Torres seems excited about facing Tottenham in the International Champions Cup next week.
The Spanish international was a superstar for the Reds during his time at Anfield and scored goals for fun.
The 32-year-old striker now plays for his boyhood club Atletico Madrid and was absolutely gutted when the team lost the Champions League final to rivals Real Madrid last season.
El Nino was loved by the Liverpool fans and was blown away by the brilliant reception he got from the supporters when he returned to Anfield last year.
The La Roja star has come up and praised the Tottenham fans (HITC via Fox Sports Australia) ahead of the pre-season fixture against the North Londoners.
Fernando stated:
“Tottenham is a great club, amazing fans, always when I was in England it was always special to go to White Hart Lane and play against them.”
Torres scored 24 goals in his debut season for Liverpool and was on the score-sheet against Tottenham at Anfield and also at White Hart Lane.
He netted his 50th goal for the Reds against Spurs on the final day of 2008-2009 season.
