Tottenham Hotspur were close to winning the league title last season but eventually ended the campaign in the third place behind arch rivals Arsenal.
The North Londoners are looking to reinforce the quality of their squad to challenge for the title next season and compete against the best teams in the Champions League as well.
Pochettino must add a top cover striker for Harry Kane and reports (Voetbalkrant) suggest that Tottenham are very close to Belgian international and Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi.
The former Standard Liege player is an out and out forward who featured in 50 games for the French side last season and directly contributed in no fewer than 33 goals.
As per the provided Voetbalkrant link, Spurs can seal the signing of Michy by paying the asking price of 31.3 million pounds, however, they are not ready to pay such a high sum for him.
The mentioned price tag is very high for someone who will mainly be utilized as a substitute or when the first choice striker Harry Kane is rested/injured.
Here is how Spurs will line up with Michy (in Kane’s absence).

Over $30K + Too Much for Micky; O.K $20k BUT Lets Buy Breel,$15-20 & Proven Chico $12-15 Million, Both will give 110% Every Game!
it would be 30 million not 30k
Interesting you see that he will be back up to Kane. He could also be used in a 433 system (LF – Batushuayi, ST Kane, RF – Lamela) for example. It will be interesting to see if Njie gets much game time and in what role, still alot of questions over his future but could quite easily become third choice Striker. what is certain is that we need a decent Stricker Back up to Kane along with a DM back up to Dier (Waynama maybe?) and a CB back up for Alderweireld (Carter-Vickers/Hill from our reserves) or a new face maybe. We could get approx 20 mill for Fazio/Yedlin/Pritchard all seem surplus to requirements. Bentaleb may make room if Waynama arrives. Food for thought…
