It looks likely that Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a quality midfielder is complete and Pochettino will finally secure the signing of Victor Wanyama.
The former Southampton boss is keen admirer of of the Kenyam international and has been trying to lure him for some time. Spurs wanted to sign him last summer as well but the 24-year-old star eventually stayed with the Saints (Daily Mail).
Now, reports (Mirror) suggest that the North Londoners have agreed a fee of 11 million pounds with Southampton to hire the services of the strong defensive midfielder.
Moreover, the player has himself confirmed his departure from Southampton this summer and has thanked the fans for their support (Soka25east).
Spurs’ Argentine manager is well aware of Wanyama’s qualities after managing the Kenyan star during his time at the St. Mary’s.
In the last campaign, the “outstanding” midfielder (ESPN) featured in 30 Premier League games for Southampton and played a pivotal role in helping the team finish 6th.
