Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to sign a quality forward to reinforce the strike-force and Mauricio Pochettino must ensure that they get one this summer.
If the media reports are anything to go by then there are numerous strikers linked with a move to White Hart Lane. One of them is Belgian international Michy Batshuayi.
According to reports (Voetbalkrant), Spurs are very close to Michy Batshuayi but there is one concern i.e they are not ready to pay the asking price of $45.4 million for the Marseille striker.
The 22-year-old forward scored 23 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 games for the Ligue 1 side in the last campaign and has the quality to be a hit in the Premier League with the North London club.
As per the provided Voetbalkrant link, Spurs seem to have free reign to sign the former Standard Liege forward after West Ham have realized that they cannot fight against their neighbors who will be playing Champions League football next season.
Spurs were linked with a move to sign Michy last year as well (Mail) and the bottom line is that Pochettino can finally get his man by paying the mentioned fee of $45.4 million.
In your opinion, should Spurs splash the cash to sign Michy?

For that price, three words: Not. Gonna. Happen!
No Way 45 Million for Micky……Instead top Swiss Player .Breel & Chico …Give 110% Every Game!
Spurs must sign Lacazette ahead of this guy, he is an exceptional talent but Lacazette would add the extra dimension that Spurs need to exploit untapped openings in the oppositions defence that a player like Defoe used to see and utilize to put players through or to score himself. With the other players we have currently in the first team squad the goal difference would be even better than last season. I can only see great things to come over the next few years for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs need flair, cheekyness and hot blood. They would nt have lost that many games with a full blooded leader, the likes of a Spaniard,Italian or SAmerican. Someone like Totti but a little younger
Why can the gooners sign players early !! And it takes spurs ages too sign anyone is this levy yet again waiting till the last. Minute as usual !!! The sooner this guy goes the better … !!! Normal for levy one step forward a d two steps back !!!! If we had off signed another striker in January I genuinely believe we would off won the league thank you me chairman for messing up again !!!!! Two strikers and a right back p!ease ???
I think he is good but expensive instead they should look other opstions like breel & others.
Levy wants us to be a big club so he has to act like we are. By signing this player it will push the team further. He is class and unfortunately you have to pay for that. By signing him Levy will recoup the money he spent. This club never invests it’s own money it’s always money generated from player sales. With other clubs the owners actually invest in their clubs Levy/Lewis don’t.
Once again Mr Levy wants everything on his terms, sometimes Daniel you need to go with that gut feeling and not be so stubborn, that’s why we never get the players we deserve, Daniel remember the days when you had a season ticket on the shelf, that love is still there just dig deep and you’re find it
