Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan but the latest reports will shock the Gunner supporters.
Few days back, the Sun reported that Arsenal are closing in on signing the $35 million rated Armenian attacking midfielder.
However, the update provided by Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola (Sport1.de via Bild) confirms that the former Shakhtar playmaker is ready to seal a move to Manchester United. Raiola claimed:
“Man United is a unique opportunity, Micki wants to go there,”
Not to forget, Raiola is also the agent of Swedish superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has reportedly agreed personal terms to sign for the Red Devils as a free agent.
The 27-year-old “high class” (News.am) attacker scored 23 goals and provided 32 assists for the German Bundesliga side last season and will largely improve the quality of Man United’s attack. In all fairness, at the moment, Mkhitaryan is better than every single attacker currently in the Manchester United squad.
The bad news for United is that Dortmund’s CEO Watzke (ESPN) has claimed that Mkhitaryan will stay at the club next season. The decision seems baffling because the Armenian will be out of contract next summer and the German club won’t get a penny when he departs.
Having already signed attackers like Dembele and Mor, BvB should sell Mkhitaryan. They can earn a decent fee now and keeping him against his will won’t really help either.
