Klopp Eager to Get Versatile Star Signing Done for Liverpool

River Plate President Rodolfo D’Onofrio (Infobae via Fox Sports) has claimed that Klopp is an admirer of the 29-year-old defender but the player would only move to England if he wins the Copa America with La Albiceleste.

Mercado has been a vital star of the River Plate side since joining them four years ago and has won major titles like Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. Gabriel can effectively play in the central defense and also in the right full back position.
He featured in the first two games of the Copa America Centenario for the two time World Cup winners. Argentina will play Venezeual tonight in the quarter final of the competition and Gabriel is expected to start.
