Last summer, Tottenham Hotspur chased the signature of Saido Berahino but the England international eventually stayed with the Baggies.
The North Londoners wasted time in the winter transfer window as well and did not sign a much needed out and out forward.
Argentine boss Mauricio Pochettino must secure the signing of a top striker this summer and a certain Belgian international in the form of Michy Batshuayi has been in the lime light for quite some time.
The 22-year-old striker wants to agree a move with Tottenham Hotspur but the North Londoners have to splash heavy cash to sign him. Marseille president Vincent Labrune wants at least 40 million Euros for the former Standard Liege center forward (Buzzsport).
Labrune rates Batshuayi very highly and back in May he claimed (Sky):
“There is not a single top-15 world club that is not interested in Batshuayi. He is one of the most wanted players on the market.”
As per the provided Buzzsport link, the Hammers are serious about signing Michy as well but the player is not ready to discuss any move linking him with West Ham United. Last month, West Ham boss Bilic praised Batshuayi and claimed (ES):
“Batshuayi is a top striker who plays for a big club, scoring goals there,”
Last season, Michy featured in 36 league games for Marseille and directly contributed in 26 goals (17 goals and 9 assists). He has netted twice in 5 games for the senior national side. So far, the Belgian star has scored 86 goals in his career (Transfermarkt).
