Liverpool suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium and now their top four chances are officially over.
Manager Jurgen Klopp was never really serious about finishing in the top four anyway as he started a very weak team against the Welsh side. The performance clearly showed that Liverpool need massive reinforcements to improve the first team as well as the squad depth.
If reports are anything to go by then Klopp is ready to sign a versatile star in the form of Thomas Lemar who plays for French side AS Monaco.
According to reports (Express via L’Equipe), Liverpool have moved in and contacted Lemar’s representatives over a potential move to Anfield. As per the provided Express link, the 20-year-old French international is rated around 58 million pounds.
Lemar can play anywhere in the attack. Adding to that, Monaco has effectively utilized him in the full back positions as well.
Thomas is mainly a central attacking midfielder and this season he has scored 5 goals and provided 5 assists in 32 games for the Ligue 1 side.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Thomas Lemar. (Picture: Getty)

I do not know anything about him. However, if he plays anywhere in the attack as well as fullback, then that is one very versatile young player. However, that said, he is only 20 years old and playing in the French leagues. If the figure mentioned of 58 million is indeed correct, I do not really see Liverpool paying that sum of money for this kind of player playing in a less physical league. This would be one heck of a ‘hail mary’, so to speak.
