Tottenham have been looking to sign an out and out striker for quite some time and failed to secure one in the last two transfer windows.
The North Londoners need someone who can support Kane or play as the lone striker upfront in the absence of the main striker. Spurs have been lucky that the England international has remained fit or else they could have been in trouble with no adequate replacement in the squad.
Brazilian star Alexandre Pato was heavily linked with a move (The Sun) to White Hart Lane but in the end Chelsea secured his signature on loan from Corinthians in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old star finds himself in a complex scenario at the Bridge. Since joining the club in winter, the Samba star only made his first appearance for the Blues last weekend and scored on his debut.
Antonio Conte will be Chelsea’s new boss next season and reports suggest that Pato is looking to join another PL side if Chelsea move falls through.
According to The Sun, Tottenham are once again in negotiations to finally sign Pato in the summer transfer window. Pato proved his quality and made his name with AC Milan. Rossoneri legend Gattuso (Tribal Football) praised him as a “great champion”.
Pato has scored 117 goals (Transfermarkt) in his club career and can prove to be a great signing for Spurs. The only dilemma with Alexandre is his injury concern, other than that, he has always been a quality goal-scorer.
