Jurgen Klopp Moves in to Sign "Outstanding" Star for Liverpool

Liverpool FCLiverpool have had a shaky defense since Rafael Benitez left the club back in 2010. Jurgen Klopp must solve this dilemma if the Reds are to have any chance of winning the league title soon.
The German boss has already agreed (Liverpool FC) a deal to sign Schalke center half Jopel Matip in the summer transfer window. Moreover, if reports are anything to go by then Klopp has moved in to sign another central defender in the form of former Arsenal captain and current Barca star Thomas Vermaelen.
According to Spanish source Sport, Liverpool are the first club to make a formal offer of 10 million Euros to sign the 30-year-old Belgian international.

Few years back, Vermaelen was a superstar at Arsenal and he was an “outstanding” player for Arsene Wenger (Arsenal Official Website). However, the drop in form and mainly injury concerns have not helped him after moving to the Catalan giants.
In the past two seasons, he has only featured in 11 league games for the Spanish champions and surely he is past his best. In such a scenario, it makes little sense why Liverpool are interested in signing him.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Thomas Vermaelen?

No thank you…. Matip, Lovren, Lucas, Gomez and Llori give us enough cover…. Happy to let Skrtel and Toure leave….. Time to bring in the new….. I’d rather put a little extra in and get Subotic or a lot more and go for Hummels. Did I also read the Batra was available for less from Barca?
