Manchester United splashed huge sum to hire the services of French striker Anthony Martial from AS Monaco last summer.
Martial has been fruitful for the Red Devils this season but United really need a world class striker next season, someone who can regularly score 20+ league goals and help them win the title.
According to reports (Daily Mail), Manchester United have moved closer to signing Borussia Dortmund superstar striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international is keen on a potential move to Old Trafford and United’s offer is expected at the end of the season. The fee could rise to 70 million pounds (Mail).
The 26-year-old star has scored 22 league goals in 24 games for Dortmund so far this season, only one behind Bundesliga’s top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski.
Without doubt, if Aubameyang does join United, he will play as the lone striker upfront no matter who is in charge of the club at that time. Rooney and Martial will have to play in the attacking midfield.
Here is how the Red Devils starting XI will look like with Aubameyang.
