Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal splashed club record sum to sign world class playmaker in the form of Angel di Maria.
However, the Argentine was sold last summer and the iconic number 7 shirt was handed over to his replacement Memphis Depay. The Dutch international signed from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven and was expected to light up Old Trafford.
However, the Netherlands attacker has been average in his first campaign and inexperienced youngsters like Lingard and Rashford have performed far better than Memphis.
Depay was voted as the Dutch player of the year for his brilliant performances with PSV last season. He scored 28 goals in 40 games for the club. To match that tally in the Premier League was always going to be difficult but no one expected such horrible stats either.
The 22-year-old attacker has only scored 7 goals in 40 appearances for the Red Devils. Depay may only stay if Louis van Gaal stays but thats looks highly unlikely as well. United need a world class number 7 and they must bring one to replace mediocre Depay.
The One Star Manchester United must Sell Next Summer

He is 22 and plays on the wing his 8 goals ( 4 in champions league 2 in europa and 2 in premiership are still amongst the top 5 contributions in terms of goals scored performances need to improve but it’s no worse than Luke shaw last year, And how he’s the one player in a team that includes Fellani Young and Phil Jones who needs to be sold this summer is beyond me
