Arsenal were Close – Can Finally Sign Star for $26.3million

Arsenal played brilliantly in the first half of the season and were considered favorites to win the title. However, since the turn of the year, the inconsistency has not helped and now the Gunners find themselves 6 points behind league leaders Leicester.
The weaknesses once again make it evident that Arsenal need to further reinforce their squad with quality players and once again Atletico Madrid’s versatile star Saul Niguez is in the limelight.

Back in December, Spanish source El Confidencial claimed that Arsenal were close to securing the services of Niguez but the negotiations were stopped because Tiago got injured.
According to latest reports provided by AS, Arsenal are once again interested in signing the 21-year-old La Roja star and can seal the signing for $26.3 million i.e. his release clause.
As per the provided AS link, the likes of Manchester United and Turkish side Galatasaray are tracking the youngster as well. Niguez has effectively played as a central midfielder, a defender and also as a winger this season and netted 7 goals so far.
