Liverpool have been busy in the winter transfer window but have not really signed any top quality player to reinforce their squad.
The Reds have been heavily linked with Brazilian playmaker Alex Teixeira. They can still seal his signing on deadline day but the price tag is very high and the Merseysiders will have to break their club record to secure him (BBC).
On the other hand, there are reports in Spain (AS via COPE) claiming that Liverpool are closer to signing Russian winger Denis Cheryshev before tonight’s deadline. He is currently unsettled at Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old pacy attacker has only made one start for the Los Blancos this season and that too in a competition where he was not even registered to feature (Copa Del Rey).
Last season, Denis was on loan with Villareal and directly contributed in 17 goals (Transfermarkt) in 40 games for the Spanish club. He has the quality to improve Liverpool’s attack and will surely not really be expensive either.
Denis is naturally a left winger so taking that into consideration, here is how Liverpool will line up with him if he does eventually sign for the Reds.

its now a team game with more than 22 players needed due to the number of games. Often two wingers will be needed so either Ibe or Lallana on the other side. I suspect Milner will not be in the team come the Summer and Moreno may not be first choice at fullback
