Manchester United suffered another defeat in the Barclays Premier League and that has helped Tottenham strengthen their grip on the fourth spot.
The North Londoners continue to impress and improve under the management of Argentine boss Mauricio Pochettino. However, they still need to add more depth in their strike-force and Spurs are still trying in the winter transfer window.
According to French Football, Tottenham did recently close on Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain to sign young versatile striker Jean-Kevin Augustin.
As per the provided French Football link, Spurs moved in to sign the youngster on loan without an option to buy but that move has been rejected by the French champions.
The 18-year-old Les Bleus striker has featured in 14 games this season and has netted 4 goals. He has played in 6 league games and scored once (Transfermarkt).
Augustin is talented but still he has not got enough experience or quality to lead the line for Spurs if Kane gets injured. Also, Tottenham have better options available who can support Kane in the attacking third.
