Arsenal have been looking to reinforce their midfield and early on in the winter transfer window, they secured a deal for Egyptian international and Basel star Mohamed Elneny.
The player agreed (Kingfut) terms and signed the contract with the Gunners sometime ago but the move was on hold because of visa issues.
As per the provided Kingfut link, the final hurdle has been cleared as well, Elneny has obtained the necessary visa and work permit and will finally move to Arsenal to seal his move today.
The 23-year-old African star has effectively played as a defensive midfielder and also as a creative center midfielder for the Swiss side. This season, he has netted 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 28 games (Transfermarkt).
So far Arsenal have done well in the absence of Coquelin and Cazorla but they need more depth and quality in the midfield and Elneny will provide that.
Ramsey is performing the CM role well and with Coquelin out injured, expect Elneny to be deployed in the defensive midfield role in front of the back four.
Terms Already Agreed – Versatile Star will move to Arsenal Today
