Manchester United had won their last two fixtures and were confident going into the game against Newcastle United but once again failed to win all three points.
The Red Devils started the game well by taking the lead in the first ten minutes. Wayne Rooney scored from the spot to give the visitors the upper hand. The captain then set up Jesse Lingard for the second goal much to the delight of the travelling supporters.
However, Newcastle United bounced back and Wijnaldum pulled one back before the break with a wonderful finish.
Chris Smalling gave away a silly penalty kick to the Magpeis in the second half and Mitrovic made no mistake in leveling the score. In the 79th minute, Rooney restored Man United’s advantage with a brilliant finish, however, Dummett equalized for Newcastle in the 90th minute and earned a crucial point.
United dominated the match and should have scored more to seal the victory. The Red Devil fans were absolutely furious and their reaction on twitter was never going to be positive. Here are a few tweets:
