Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Barclays premier League after an entertaining 5-4 victory over Norwich City away from home last Saturday.
The Reds are eager to reinforce their squad this winter and if reports are anything to go by then they are edging closer to sign Brazilian playmaker Alex Teixeira.
According to FutbolUkraine, the 26-year-old Samba star has agreed personal terms with Liverpool and now the only issue left in the move is Shakhtar’s decision.
On the other hand, the player has himself told the Ukrainian side that he wants to leave in this winter transfer window (Mirror).
“I would like to move in this transfer window and have told them [Shakhtar] that. They have received a very good offer and they are working on a solution. But if I don’t go now then I will leave in the summer.”
Teixeira has been in world class form this season. In 26 games for Shakhtar, he has netted 26 goals and also provided 5 assists. He has won no fewer than 11 titles with the Ukrainian side.
It will be a mouthwatering prospect for the Reds if they can seal his signing this winter. The Reds surely need a top player like him if they are to turn the season around.
