Liverpool have to adequately reinforce their squad in the winter transfer window if they are to achieve their objectives this season.
The Merseysiders have already signed a midfielder in the form of Marko Grujic and are now closing (Daily Star via La Gazzetta Dello Sport) in to sign another in the form of Fiorentina and Spanish midfielder Mario Suarez.
Suarez can play as a central/defensive midfielder. The Reds already have center midfielder like Henderson, Can, Allen and Milner. Suarez will probably replace Lucas Leiva in the starting XI if he does join the Anfield club.
Under the management of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have mainly utilized a 4-2-3-1 formation but keeping in mind their poor defensive record, the Reds should play at least three in the middle.
In a 4-3-3 formation, Mario Suarez could be the one to line up in front of the back four and provide the necessary support to the defense.
Here is how Liverpool will line up with Mario Suarez if he ends up signing for them.
