Arsenal have a habit of performing brilliantly well in only one half of the season and that is the main reason why they have failed to win the title in over a decade.
The Gunners were 1st on new year in 2013-2014 campaign but after a dismal second half of the season, they ended up fourth. Last season, they were average in the first half of the season and top class in the second.
No PL team has earned more points in 2015 than Arsenal but they have to take this form into 2016 as well if they are to win the title.
For that to happen, Arsenal must reinforce the quality of the squad in the winter window and sign players to cover for their injury concerns.
The one signing that the Gunners must seal this winter is that of a quality defensive midfielder. Arsenal’s first choice DM Francis Coquelin is out with a knee injury and will return in around two months (PhysioRoom).
In his absence, Arsenal do not have a quality DM to cover in front of the back four. Flamini is doing a decent job at the moment but he is not good enough to face teams like Manchester City (next opponent).
Players like Xhaka, Neves and Carvalho are being tracked (Daily Mail) by the Gunners. It will be fair to say any one of the trio will be a quality addition to the squad.
