Arsenal lost against Olympiacos (3-2) at the Emirates Stadium and needed a big win in Greece to turn the tie around and qualify for the KO stages of the Champions League.
Any win other than 1-0 or 2-1 would have been enough for the North Londoners to reach the last 16 and Arsenal completed the job by winning 3-0 on the night.
Star striker Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick against the Greek giants much to the delight of the traveling supporters.
Arsenal were without their superstar playmaker Alexis Sanchez who has been out with a hamstring injury for quite sometime. PhysioRoom suggests that the Chilean international is expected to be back in just over two weeks.
The former Bracelona star was not missed by any means as Arsenal won their game comfortably. Alexis was absolutely over the moon with Arsenal’s victory and took to twitter to express his delight.
