Liverpool were the last team to qualify for the last four of the Capital One Cup and they did that in some style against Southampton.
The Reds scored six past the Saints in their own backyard much to the delight of the traveling supporters.
Jurgen Klop’s men started the game in the most terrible fashion, conceding inside the first minute. Moreover, Southampton bombarded them with attack after attack in the opening 10 minutes. However, the in form Merseysiders turned the game around with three quick goals in the first half.
Daniel Sturridge made a goal-scoring return to the starting lineup for the Reds and scored a brilliant brace. His trike partner Divock Origi went one better than the English star and scored a hat-trick on the night.
Substitute Jordon Ibe was on the score-sheet as well. Liverpool’s brilliant away form continues and next up they face Newcastle United away from home.
