Arsenal are seriously looking to sign a quality defensive midfielder in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The North Londoners lost their first choice holding midfield star Francis Coquelin to injury and the Les Bleus player must be adequately replaced. Arsenal did sign young Bielik last winter but he still needs loads of experience to replace someone like Coquelin.
According to Daily Mail, Arsenal are tracking more than a few defensive midfielders like Xhaka, Carvalho and Ruben Neves.
Mail claim that Arsenal have constantly tracked Porto star Ruben Neves this season and have rarely missed a game. The 18-year-old Portuguese defensive midfielder is a quality player who has a release clause of €29.5m (Daily Star) in his contract.
This season, Neves has featured in 16 games for the Primeira Liga giants and became the youngest player ever to captain a side in Europe’s elite competition UEFA Champions League.
As per the provided Star link, Liverpool are interested in signing Neves as well, hence Arsenal must act swiftly to sign the star who has the quality to sort their defensive midfield dilemma.
