Manchester United and Manchester City are set to face competition from North London side Tottenham to sign Newcastle star Ayoze Perez.
The 22-year-old Spanish international has been in brilliant from this season for the magpies and has attracted interest from top clubs. In the last six Premier League games this season, Perez has directly contributed in 5 goals (3 goals and 2 assists).
According to Daily Star, Spurs are readying an offer of $18 million to beat competition from the Manchester clubs and secure Ayoze’s signature.
Capable of playing on either flank, as a secondary striker and also as an out and out striker, Ayoze’s versatility is his main quality from which Tottenham can benefit.
Fortunately, Kane has returned to form but there is no quality backup striker to cover for the England international if he gets injured. Perez can be the answer to that for Mauricio Pochettino.
In your opinion, should Spurs really sign Ayoze Perez or look for someone more prolific than the La Roja forward.?
