After a disappointing Match Day 1 defeat against Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United bounced back to beat Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the Champions League.
The Red Devils started the game in the worst possible manner and were behind in the first five minutes. Mistake from Antonio Valencia allowed Caliguiri to break the offside trap and slot the ball home in the fourth minute.
However, the goalscorer undid his good work and gifted the home side a penalty by stopping Mata’s cross with his arm.
The Spaniard then stepped up and made no mistake from the spot. With the scores level, the Old Trafford club dominated the proceedings and deservedly scored in the second half thanks to center back Chris Smalling.
Wayne Rooney was arguably United’s worst attackking player on the field for United and Juan Mata was the architecht of everything good for the Red Devils.
