Liverpool are interested in reinforcing their midfield and if reports are anything to go by then the Reds seem serious about signing Porto star defensive midfielder Ruben Neves.
Mirror have reported that Liverpool scouts were present Porto’s Champions League game last night where the teenage star captained the side against Tel Aviv and led them to victory.
As per the provided Mirror link, Liverpool are in pole position to secure the services of the Portuguese international and are stepping up interest to sign him.
Previously, Daily Star reported that Liverpool’s new manager Jurgen Klopp has told the Anfield chiefs to make Ruben Neves his first signing for the club. Star also mentioned that the 18-year-old star has a release clause of 29 million in his contract.
The youngster mainly plays as a defensive midfielder but has also been utilized in the central midfield because of his creativity. Neves provided a crucial assist in their Champions League victory over Premier League champions Chelsea.

Let’s get him. We have not had a midfielder the likes of Steve McMahon for quite a while now. I would like to see him at Liverpool if reports are anything to go by.
