Manchester United had major defensive concerns last season, however, the Red Devils have started strongly at the back this time around.
Manager Louis van Gaal has started the same back four in every game this season but United suffered a huge blow when Luke Shaw broke his leg against PSV Eindhoven in the midweek.
The Old Trafford club are now looking for a replacement. Metro cite reports in Spanish media claiming that Man United are considering €49.4m signing of Valencia left back Jose Luis Gaya.
The 20-year-old Spanish international was brilliant for the La Liga side last season and helped them qualify for the Champions League.
The youngster is not only solid at the back but has also proved his quality in the attacking third. He scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists in 37 games last season.
Without doubt Gaya has the talent to replace Shaw but United do have players like Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and even Mateo Darmian who can be utilized in the left back position. In such a scenario, should United splash heavy cash and sign the Spaniard?

I hope that United wake up to the joke of LVG andkick him out at the end of the season. He is throwing money
Around like monopoly money with buying and giving ordinary players 100 plus thousandpounds a week wages
The man is like a kid that hass been let loose in a sweet shop with the money at his disposal.
LVG has never in his career bought players before he came to United and it shows.
With all of Uniteds matches up until now been showing on TV I am wakting for the Saturday 3pm k.o. because it is awful to watch then I will not be able to see them.
Looks like you are an anti-man utd. Man utd had the heaviest PV last season and LVG has now cleared it with the sale of those high earners contributing nothing to the club. RVP,Nani, Anderson, cleverley, Di maria etc. We now have only Rooney and De Gea collecting up to £200,000 a week. Check the budgets of other teams like chelsea (Hazard, Fabregas, Oscar, pedro, costa), Man city (Toure, Aguero, Company, mangala, silva, Bony, steerlin) and you will appreciate LVG. I think this man deserves some credit because he is currently doing what SAF should have done before leaving united. He is building a team that will dominate europe for a century buying promising talents who are full of potentials within a nice age range. Non of his recruits is above 26 apart from Bastian. Ignoring Pedro for Martial was the best business of his career and he is reaping the dividends already. Looks like you are ignorant of his Barca and Bayern career when u said he had not bought a player before the united job.
