Manchester United star David de Gea was heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The deadline day passed and the former Atletico Madrid star did not leave the club. Moreover, De Gea then signed a new contract with the Red Devils much to the happiness of the supporters.
However, that happiness may not last for long as the latest reports probably suggest that De Gea might be sold next summer.
Sport Witness cite reports in the Spanish media claiming that De Gea had a release clause of 60 million Euros in his previous contract. In the new contract, that release clause has been reduced to just 40 million Euros.
If the report is true then it is really baffling that Manchester United have reduced the release clause for one of the best goal keepers in the world. It is quite possible that may be there is an arrangement with Real Madrid for De Gea’s sale next summer.
For now, United can benefit from the services of De Gea this season. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds next summer.
This Probably Means €40m Man United Superstar will Finally be Sold
