Star Shines – Liverpool Player Ratings vs Bournemouth

Liverpool played their first home fixture of the season last night against Bournemouth and won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from their marquee summer signing Christian Benteke.
Without doubt, the goal should not have stood because Phil Coutinho was clearly offside. Nevertheless, the luck was on Liverpool’s side and they earned all three points.
On a positive note, the defense is working brilliantly for the Reds. Bournemouth fought hard and troubled Liverpool but the defenders were on top of their game to deny the visitors.
Coutinho was once again the architect in attack but missed more than a few decent chances to score his second goal of the season. Benteke combined well with all the attackers and should have netted another goal from close range but could only hit the bar.
Once again, the performance level from the new look Liverpool side was not up to the mark and they must step up big time if they are to get anything away from Arsenal in the next match.
