Having already signed an attacker like Firmino this summer, Liverpool now need to sign a versatile midfielder. However, reports suggest that they are very close to signing another attacker in the form of Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Few days back, Telegraph reported that the Reds have sealed a 15 million pounds deal with the Bundesliga side to secure the signing of Mkhitaryan.
Now, Liverpool Echo also claim that according to reports, Liverpool have agreed a fee to sign the Armenian international from the German club.
The 26-year-old star has started the new season in brilliant fashion and has scored or assisted a goal in every single game. In 6 games, Mkhitaryan has already scored 7 goals and also provided 4 assists.
Henrikh is a goal-scoring attacker and has scored 102 senior goals in his career so far. He is a versatile playmaker and can fit into many positions in the Liverpool XI.
The Reds already have the likes of Coutinho, Firmino, Ibe, Lallana and Markovic. If Mkhitaryan does arrive, Liverpool will clearly have an over crowded attacking midfield.

I would love Mkhitaryan to join the overcrowding of attacking midfielders. With all the competitions (especially the dreaded Thursday night Europa League football) I am sure that all can get playing time, and in so doing, fight for places in the first team. I reckon that this is also a way of sorting out which players are best suited to the system(s) that the manager wants to suse. I still feel a bit aggrieved at the fact that he chose Dortmund over Liverpool, but whether we made a serious move for him is also debatable.
