Markovic joined Liverpool last summer in a big money move from Portuguese side Benfica but failed to shine in his first season with the Reds.
Liverpool officially confirmed the departure of the Serbian star (on-loan) and reports suggest that they are looking to sign another playmaker to strengthen the attacking department.
According to Express, manager Brendan Rodgers is keen about signing $15.4m rated Polish international Jakub Blaszczykowski. The 29-year-old winger has been a key member of the Dortmund squad over the years but things have changed since the departure of Jurgen Klopp.
Jakub has featured 253 times for the Bundesliga side, scored 32 goals and also provided 52 assists.
If he does join Liverpoo, it is highly likely that Blaszczykowski will only start in a lone striker formation and will mostly find himself on the bench when star striker Sturridge returns.
Neverthelesss, expect Rodgers to deploy him at the right hand side of attack in his preferred position if he does play for the Anfield club.
Here is how Liverpool will line up with Jakub Blaszczykowski.
