Manchester United superstar goalkeeper David de Gea has been dropped from today’s squad for the game against Tottenham. It will not be a surprise if the Spanish international finally leaves Old Trafford soon.
Moreover, record signing Angel di Maria has already left the club to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain. In such a scenario, Louis van Gaal has claimed that United will need two more players.
The Dutch manager stated:
“Yes, because I have said that we need players with speed and creativity – Di Maria is a player like that and now he is gone, so we need that type of player.”
“Of course we have problems still with the goalkeeper, so we need maybe two more players.”
As far as a speedy attacker is concerned, Manchester United are heavily linked with Barcelona attacker Pedro. The Spaniard might be the one to replace Angel di Maria at Old Trafford.
On the other hand, replacing David de Gea is not going to be easy as he was arguably the best goalie in the world last season. Someone like Dutch star Jasper Cillessen will be a decent replacement.
The winger-goalie double deal must be completed soon because United will be very weak if they do not replace De Gea and Di Maria.
