Arsenal performed brilliantly in their pre-season and won three trophies but the Gunners started their Premier League campaign with a shocking defeat against West Ham United yesterday.
For worse, the defeat came in front of the home supporters at the Emirates Stadium. Goals from Kouyate and Zarate sealed the victory for West Ham on Bilic’s debut PL game.
The North Londoners created more chances in the game but were absolutely woeful in front of goal. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was the only shining star in Arsenal’s offense. Apart from the England international, no one impressed upfront in attack. Record signing Mesut Ozil was literally awful.
Petr Cech was brought from Chelsea to make the difference but the Czech international had a day to forget. The veteran goalie was at fault for conceding both the goals.
Theo Walcott and star playmaker Alexis Sanchez were introduced in the second half but the duo could not make any difference either as Arsenal slumped to a 2-0 defeat.
Here are the Arsenal player ratings vs the Hammers.

We will continue to ask questions and wonder what is the answer to Arsenal’s inconsistency and lack of killer instinct on the pitch for a very long time, until we are able to accept that with the type of leadership entrenched at Arsenal, things will not change soon. This leadership, off and on the field of play, HAS to change before we will see different results.
