It will be fair to say that after the departure of Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling from Liverpool Football Club, Brazilian playmaker Phil Coutinho is the main talisman for the Reds.
The former Inter Milan star scored an emphatic winner against Stoke City to earn Liverpool all three points in their opening Premier League game. Goes without saying that Coutinho’s presence is vital if the Merseysiders are to qualify for the Champions League again.
AC Milan legend and former World Player of the Year Kaka perhaps has an important message for Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Samba superstar claims that Liverpool should build the team around Coutinho. Kaka claimed:
“There will be a lot of expectation on him (Coutinho) with Liverpool fighting to get back into the Champions League, but I know that he can handle it.”
“One great player doesn’t make a team, but you can build a team around one great player, and I believe he can be that player.”
Kaka believes that no one can replace legendary Steven Gerrard at Liverpool but someone has to step up in his absence and Coutinho can be that player.
Moreover, the former Real Madrid star also thinks that new summer signing Firmino will be a big player for the Reds. However, the fans must be patient as he needs time to settle.
