Arsenal must sign top quality players for the first team this summer but for now it seems they are more focused on securing youngsters.
Petr Cech is by all means a World Class signing by the Gunners but he alone cannot help them win the title next season.
As published earlier on the website, Wenger is very keen on securing Barcelona youngster Sergi Sampers. Daily Star suggests that Gunners are set to agree another deal for a talented young star as playmaker Wellington Silva is set to sign new deal with Arsenal.
As per the provided Star link, Silva only has one year remaining on his current deal and he has finally agreed to pen new long term contract with the North London club.
The 22-year-old Brazilian who played on loan for Almeria last season claimed:
“It’s a dream for me to play there,” “Arsenal is a great club. Unfortunately this was not possible because of these administrative concerns.”
“But I think I’m ready now, I learned a lot in Spain. Including playing without the ball. If all goes well, I’ll be out there next season.”
Capable of playing at either flank, the versatile attacker featured in 35 games for the La Liga side last season and provided 7 assists.
He might be ready to fight for his place at Arsenal but it is going to be very difficult to get game time when the Gunners already have top class playmakers in the first team.
