Tottenham are focused on reinforcing their defense this summer and have already secured two defenders in the form of Wimmer and Trippier.
However, manager Mauricio Pochettino also needs a strong defensive midfield star to provide solid cover in front of the back four.
It seems very highly likely that Tottenham will be signing a midfielder this summer since because they not only lack quality and depth in that department but also because they have already sealed deal to let go three midfielders.
Brazilian international Paulinho has already been sold to Chinese club Guangzhou
Now latest reports suggest Tottenham are closing in to complete transfer of two more stars as french midfielders Capoue and Stambouli are set to leave White Hart Lane after deals have been agreed with Watford.
As per the provided Sky Sports link Watford has agreed the price for both players and only the personal terms are left to be agreed for the deal to be finalized.
Both Stambouli and Capoue featured in 12 Premier League games for Tottenham last season and are not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the next season.
Spurs must not waste more time in the transfer window and look to secure a top midfielder before all their targets move elsewhere.
Already they have lost out on Imbula and Kondogbia, further delay is surely not going to help the North Londoners.
