Spurs – $14m Signing Close, Midfielder Deal Accepted

PLTottenham have lately been linked with two key strikers to strengthen their strike-force, Juventus’ Fernando Llorente and Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi.
However, it will be fair to say that Spurs should focus more on signing the Belgian international Michy for several reasons.
Age is the main factor here as the former Standard Lieage star is young and will develop under main striker Harry Kane.
Moreover, Mauricio Pochettino has established a formation with lone striker and Michy is the one who may not complain much while starting from the bench as he started only 6 league games for Marseille last season and netted 9 goals.
Veteran Llorente on the other hand might have experience on his side but he warmed the bench at Juventus and will not accept a bench role at White Hart Lane.
According to Express, Spurs are closing in to sign Michy Batshuayi from the Ligue 1 side as negotiations are going on for the transfer of $14m rated striker.
Moreover, it looks highly likely that Spurs French star Stambouli is going to leave White Hart Lane this summer.
Reports suggest that the defensive midfielder has accepted terms with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain.
Not to forget, Tottenham have already sold one midfielder in the form of Paulinho and regardless of Stambouli’s potential departure, Pochettino must sign a quality versatile midfield star to reinforce the department.

Really? Spurs have “already sold one midfielder in the form of Paulinho”?
I guess Etienne Capoue and Lewis Holtby aren’t midfielders too, right?

Batshuayi is a wise and progressive acquisition – ideal for the team.
Paying +10M for Llorente is ridiculous – If it happens it means Baldini must still have some influence.
Spurs are trying to offload 2 over-priced, overpaid, over the hill strikers now.
Why would they add another one ?
Llorente is worth a 3M transfer fee and 50,000 per week on a 1 or 2 year deal max.
    Otherwise, it’s a bad deal.

the formation our manager is putting together is formidable.its the opposite of last year. if it wasn’t for our striker kane and lloris we would be a sure candidate for mid table.our last step is paying off baldini.im sure its going to cost a lot.it will be money well spent

Batshuayi looks just the sort of striker we should be buying. Llorente would be moaning as soon as he realises he wont shift Kane from the first choce striker position, he wage demands would be excessive and his best days are possibly behind him. Looks like a West Ham or Newcastle United ideal to me…
The fire sales continues – Kaboul for £3m, Saldano to Seville for £11M, Adey to Vila for £2M?? need to try and move on Fazio, and Chichers quick sharp though and try to do the deal with Everton for LEnnon with McCarthy and Mirales coming to Spurs, I would be happy with the squad then. Expecting some of our youngsters to step up this season
