Liverpool finally got rid of Raheem Sterling as the England international officially completed his move to Manchester City yesterday.
As Reds have got heavy amount of funds after selling the young playmaker, top replacements were bound to be linked and it was a matter of time that someone like Marco Reus came into the lime light yet again.
Like a perfect rumor, Reus’ name always turns up when Liverpool sell a big name. Last year, the merseysiders sold one of the best players in the world in the form of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Eventually, reports started to come up claiming that Liverpool are closing in to sign Reus. Independent suggested last year that Reds were actually leading the race to sign the talented Kaiser.
However, it was never the case as Rodgers preferred signing Markovic and Lallana.
Now that Liverpool have sold Sterling for a mammoth sum, once again the perfect rumor has returned as reports suggest that Brendan Rodgers is ready to splash as much as 46 million pounds to sign Reus.
The German international is one of the best attacking midfileders in the world but highly unlikely that he will arrive at Anfield.
Liverpool fans must realize that the Firmino and Milner were signed to reinforce attack taking into consideration that Sterling will leave. Quality playmaker Coutinho is there and they already have Ibe, Lallana and Markovic in the backup as well.
The merseysiders badly missed a top goalscorer last season and they must sign one from the Sterling money. Reus to Liverpool is a dream that is not going to come true, at least for another season.
