Finally after so long Manchester United give fans a reason to be delighted again with capture of another top quality star.
United secured the deal to sign Memphis Depay back in May and since then have been very quite in the transfer window.
However, the Red Devils have now officially confirmed that the club has reached agreement with Bayern Munich to sign German World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The agreement fee has not been mentioned on Man United’s official website but other reports suggest that the price English side are paying the Bundesliga champions is 14 million pounds.
The Red Devils claimed that the personal terms and medical still need to be sorted for completion of signing and further confirmation will be provided when that is done.
Guardian have mentioned the terms as well and believe that Schweni will get a three year contract worth £140,000 a week from the Red Devils.
Goes without saying that Schweinsteiger has been one of the best midfielders in the world over the years and United fans will be delighted that another proven quality star is added to their ranks.
Although Schweni will turn 31 soon, still he has a lot to offer in terms of leadership in midfield and Van Gaal knows how to effectively utilize the Kaiser as the Dutch manager did during his time with the German giants.
