It looks like the tables have turned in just a single day as Benteke, who was close to joining Man United yesterday is now heading to Anfield.
Yesterday, Star reported that Man United have agreed to meet the release clause of the Aston Villa striker as they close in to sign him. Eventually, we covered the story claiming that Man United have won the competition to sign Benteke.
Today, it is the other way around as reports suggest that Liverpool are set to sign the Belgian international after Aston Villa accepted $51 million bid from the merseysiders.
Daily Mail claimed a day ago that Benteke wants Liverpool move and it looks highly likely that the former Genk star will be at Anfield next season.
Liverpool fans might think that the price they are paying to secure his services is very high but that was always going to happen once they sold Raheem Sterling to City for huge sum.
Nevertheless, the Anfield faithful will be delighted as Benteke is a proven Premier League goalscorer and will surely improve Reds’ strikeforce. The stats provided below explain why Benteke is that highly rated.

What competition to sign him!?! The press have done nothing but report that Liverpool, Utd and Spurs are all looking to sign him yet there’s been no bids or stated interest in him. The reason for that is simple….Villa want the release fee and nobody is willing to pay that (rightly so). That is until Liverpool got their hands on a stupid amount of money for sterling and true to form will pay over the odds for a player. Again this is still press talk as I’ve read nothing from Liverpool on the matter. If they do pay that amount I’ll feel sorry for Danny Ings. He signed for Liverpool stating it was for footballing reasons yet if Sturridge remains fit and they sign benteke he’ll replace lambert on the bench.
