Despite reinforcing their defense with two defenders in the form of Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez, Liverpool want to further strengthen their back-line this summer.
The merseysiders have been linked with a move to bring PSG left back Lucas Digne to Anfield.
Last Wednesday, Express reported that the Reds are looking to seal their 8th summer signing by capturing Digne from the French giants. The report suggested that Spanish defender Jose Enrique is free to leave the club.
Enrique only featured in 4 PL games last season and was excluded from the pre-season tour squad this summer as well.
Digne can prove to be a decent replacement for the former Newcastle star and will probably be used as a backup for Alberto Moreno.
According to latest reports, Liverpool are closing in to finally sign Lucas Digne after holding talks with PSG officials. As per the provided Metro link
“It’s understood that Liverpool met with PSG owner Nasser Al Khelaifi and Sporting Director Olivier Letang and talks went well.”
The $22m rated French star has normally warmed the bench for Paris Saint-Germain.
Last season, Digne was part of the PSG squad 37 times in league but could only feature in just 15 games for the club.
