After a long transfer saga, Liverpool and Manchester City have finally reached a deal to seal the transfer of Raheem Sterling.
According to reports, a mammoth fee of £49million has been agreed between the clubs for the England international to depart Anfield and join the Sky Blues.
The mentioned sum is the highest ever paid for a player under the age of 20 and Liverpool supporters are ecstatic since Sterling was never considered as important as the likes of Torres & Suarez. Reds must act swiftly in the window to use the funds and sign quality players. The question is, who should they sign?
If Social media is anything to go by, one player is in the limelight, Liverpool fans want Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus. Highly likely the German may cost as much as 49 million pounds as well.
However, splashing that much cash on one playmaker makes no sense when Liverpool need a striker and a midfielder and also when Reds have already added Milner and Firmino to reinforce their offense. Not to forget, the likes of Lallana, Markovic and Ibe are there to provide decent cover as well.
Liverpool must splash 15 odd million to secure the services of a strong holding midfielder or a deep lying playmaker. Someone like Real Madrid’s Asier Illaramendi will be perfect addition.
The rest, Reds must spend to sign a top quality goalscorer. The merseysiders had two players over 20 league goals in 2013-14 but not even a single star who reached double figures in PL last season.
Alexandre Lacazette had a better goalscoring record than most top strikers in Europe last season, even better than Benzema, Higuain and Benteke. Brendan Rodgers must look to lure the French international to Anfield.

Key Player(s) Liverpool Must Sign from Sterling's £49m

Problem is, QPR get 9.8m of it and it’s actually only 44M plus 5M add ons.
Liverpool end up with 34.2M not 49M (which is less than they paid for Caroll)
The problem with the club management and BR is that; both sides are too sluggish, they pursue the irrelevant players, BR personality does not command and attract top quality players to Anfield.
Let’s wait and see what will happen at the end.
Illaramendi, Lacazette, Pedro, Rondon, Cherychev, Papadopoulos are all up for grab but BR will continue giving us heartache and headaches.
Personally, I don’t like him.
I missed Rafa Benitez
