Sergio Romero has been Argentina’s number 1 goalie over the past few years and the South American star is closing in to join Manchester United.
Romero has never really been a hit at club level but remained an important figure for the national side.
Former Argentina manager Sabella considered him as an excellent goal keeper.
The 28-year-old goal keeper featured in all 5 games for Argentina in the 2010 World Cup. Germany ousted them in the Quarter finals.
Moreover, Romero played pivotal role in helping Argentina qualify for World Cup 2014 and Copa America 2015 finals but again La Albiceleste could not win the title.
The star goalie has been released by Sampdoria this summer and according to ESPN, Romero has agreed three year deal to sign for Manchester Untied and will link up with his new teammates in days.
As per the provided link, Victor Valdes is set to leave Old Trafford after Van Gaal confirmed that the Spaniard is available for transfer and Sergio can prove to be a decent replacement.

Now I think the next and the most important department left unconcerned is the central defence. This can perfectly and wonderfully be found in Nicholas Otamendi (27), who wants the move to Old Traford but Utd seem to push for impossible Ramos (30). We should be careful before we do the same mistake as in Fabregas, Alcantara or Vidal’s case.
Sergio Romero is a very good goal keeper and I know he is going to compete with De Gea favourably; In central defense Otamendi or Ramos sh’d be signed, but I doubt whether Real Madrid will let Ramos to go to Man Utd; LVG and Woodward p’se sign LACAZATTE as a replacement of RVP if you want to take Champions and premier league consectively; Thanks.
