Manchester United signed Ashley Young under the management of legendary Alex Ferguson from Aston Villa.
The England international impressed on his first season with the club but then proved to be very inconsistent for the Red Devils.
Under David Moyes, Young was arguably one of the worst players in the team and fans wanted him out of the club.
However, last season, Louis van Gaal revitalized the winger and Young proved to be fruitful, mainly in the second half of the season.
Such were the rejuvenated performances from Ashley Young that the Dutch manager was forced to oust record signing Angel di Maria from the starting XI.
At the end of the season, there were talks regarding his new deal and finally reports suggest that Young has penned three year deal with Man United, wages unchanged €170,000 a week.
Last season, the 29 year old star featured in 26 league games for the Red Devils, scored 2 goals and also provided 5 assists.
It is highly likely that next season Ashley Young will find himself on the bench more often than not because United have signed a top left winger Memphis Depay for the first team.
Nevertheless, Young will have the chance to step up and oust the Dutch star from starting XI this time. If not, he is earning decent amount of $$$ to be happy at Old Trafford.
