Arsenal will not really be disappointed if they lose Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United because the defensive midfield dilemma has been solved by Francis Coquelin.
The headline on Express claim that Man United complete Schneiderlin move beating Chelsea and Arsenal but nothing concrete has been written in their content about any deal being agreed or completed.
However, Express do claim that Man United are closer and Southampton have a deal in place for Morgan’s replacement in the form of Lille’s Idrissa Gueye and his capture will be announced once the French international departs the club.
If more light is shed on this transfer saga, it will be fair to say that Manchester United are the ones very close to finally signing him.
Earlier this month, Daily Star reported that Man United have beaten off competition to complete €35m deal for Schneiderlin.
The Red Devils need a versatile star in their midfield department and Morgan Schneiderlin completely fits the bill. The Les Bleus star can be the perfect long term replacement for Michael Carrick.
Schneiderlin is a strong defensive midfielder and is creative in the center of the park as well.
If United do eventually secure his signing, that will probably mean that the Red Devils may avoid going after Gundogan as they already have Herrera, Fellaini, Blind and Carrick for the midfield positions who were more than fruitful last season.
