Manchester United reject Radamel Falcao failed to shine under the management of Louis van Gaal last season but class is permanent.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho clearly believes that Falcao is not the player what English people saw last season with Red Devils.
“It really hurts me that people in England believe that Falcao is the guy they saw at Manchester United.
“He’s a player I know, one that I’ve followed since Atletico Madrid and if I can help Falcao arrive at his level I will do it.”
While Jose confirmed his interest not so long ago, there are reports suggesting that Liverpool are set to hijack Chelsea’s move to sign Falcao.
Understandable that Chelsea offer CL football but Diego Costa is the main striker there and Falcao would not want to settle for a bench role for second season running. He could only complete full 90 minutes 5 times for Red Devils.
Moreover, the Colombian opted against CL football when he moved to Atletico, Monaco as well as Man United. Wages might be a concern for Liverpool but if he joins, Falcao will start ahead of Sturridge for the Reds.
In all fairness, even after an average last season, Falcao is arguably a better striker than Daniel
Rodgers must not look to bring back diamond formation, one because that is ineffective without a player like Suarez, two Falcao has mainly been a success playing as lone striker upfront where he is the main star.
Sturridge served most part of last season on the treatment table and is expected to return late in October. There is no way, Liverpool can just think of relying on the likes of Ings, Origi and must sign someone like Falcao as soon as possible.

Falcao may be an ok player but he did not impress at Man U. His wages are too high and he is getting old. Why not target a younger player who is more dangerous to opposition’s defences. I would have been happier with even Austin than Falcao. Austin would still be very hungry and would be cheaper. His 17 goals for a relegated side was no fluke.
Falcao can’t be relied on right now. Henry would tell you Liverpool can’t win a title with Falcao upfront. Sturridge is better than him a million times. Rodgers has to do the right signings or get sacked next season when liverpool gets relegated.
