Manchester United are badly in need of a top quality star striker for next season if they are going to seriously threaten Chelsea and City in the title race.
The current crop is just not good enough and former star Michael Owen has rightly pointed out this issue in Man United’s strike-force.
The Reds were very closely linked with £36m rated Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic but the latest reports bring bad news for the United supporters.
According to reports, Italian side Juventus have agreed terms to sign the Croatian international.
Juve’s head coach Allegri claimed:
“I like Mandzukic, he is a great striker for a team that continually attacks”
This is not the first time the Serie A champions have stolen the march and secured the signing of a top quality Manchester United target.
Earlier this month, Juve officially announced the free transfer signing of one of the best holding midfielders from Real Madrid i.e. Sami Khedira. The German international was a target of Man United along-with other top English clubs.
If reports are anything to go by, then it seems highly likely that Manchester United have been beaten by Juventus yet again as Mandzukic closes in on replacing Tevez at the club.
Old Lady’s general manager Moratta states:
“If Tévez goes, we have located the player that we want in his place and he is called Mandzukic. We have positive reports about the Croatian,”
Losing out on former Bayern Munich star will be another set back for Red Devils who must not waste time and complete top striker signing this summer.
