The 5 time world champions took an early lead thanks to captain Thiago Silva in the 9th minute of the game. The Samba star were favorites and as expected dominated the proceedings.
Manchester United target Roberto Firmino doubled Brazil’s lead in the second half when the Hoffenheim playmaker combined with Chelsea winger Willian to score from close range.
Venezuela could only score a mere consolation late on as Miku scored in the 84th minute but it was not enough to take them through.
The knock out stage contests are all set now with some cracking games as reigning champions Uruguay will face hosts Chile, the Samba boys will face Paraguay while La Albiceleste will face Colombia. Brazil and Argentine will collide in the semis if both win their respects quarter finals.
