Liverpool are in desperate need of a top quality center forward for next season as last season was absolute turmoil.
World Class Luis Suarez was replaced by veteran Lambert and mediocre Balotelli and Reds had to pay the price with a dismal season.
Now the merseysiders must sign a quality striker but this time around, there is not Champions League football.
According to reports, Liverpool have triggered €20m release clause of Villareal striker Luciano Vietto. However, fans need not be excited as Reds remain least favorites to sign the talented center forward. Vietto scored 20 goals and provided 8 assists in 48 games for Villareal this season.
Liverpool were interested in securing his services back in 2013 as well when the youngster played for Racing club.
As per Spanish source AS, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are also ready to meet the asking price to sign the 21 year old. Atletico offer him the chance to stay in Spain and move to a top club while Arsenal guarantee Champions League football as well.
On the other hand, Liverpool will be playing in Europa League where Vietto scored 8 goals last season and would want to step up into CL. Reds may have to forget about signing the Argentine and look elsewhere.
