All 4 favourites so far did a surprisingly poor job on the field – CHile could have ost the game, Mexico with 0 goals against Bolivia, Uruguay taking just a minimal victory and Argentina's defence collapsing to Paraguay.
Now I am backing Colombia – one of the most pleasant surprises in Internationa soccer recently. Their record speaks for itself – only 2 losses (agains Brazil) and 2 draws (in friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia) since 2014. Everything else – victories. On paper squad seems even better than what we saw in World Cup 2014.
Venezuela played no friendlies before Copa (Colombia won 1-0 Costa Rica a week ago). 2011 success in Copa is far away, now squad has been playing poorly, in qualifiers for world cup managed only 14 goals. Since then quite bad results. They have some European based players + some playing in domestic championship and some playing in Colombia. I do not like them much to be honest.
No idea why odds again rising in matchday for a favourite. Colombia have been shining bright and I believe fair line is -1.5 with 2.05 here.
